Four Environmental Growth Chambers (Conviron Model E15, 1.7 m2)  are available within the newly renovated common laboratory.

Growth chambers are used to provide precise control of environmental conditions within the chamber including, temperature, photoperiod, light intensity, humidity and CO2 levels. This level of environmental control makes them useful for many types of research.  For example environmental growth chambers can be used by plant scientists to examine the growth of plants under different environmental conditions, by entomologists to rear and experiment with insects, or by environmental scientists to provide specific environmental conditions for their experiments.
