Our volunteers and staff are busy getting ready for this year’s Native Plant Sale. Mark your calendar for Saturday June 7, 9am – 12pm.

This treasured annual event has been taking place for over 20 years and is a collaborative effort between staff at the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens and the Friends of the Forest Volunteer Society.

We sell plants that we propagate ourselves from seed collected at the Gardens. The proceeds from the sale of these plants support plant conservation research at the K. C. Irving Environmental Science Centre.

In addition to the 3000 plants that we’ve grown, we will have local nurseries selling native plants as well as information booths focused on sustainable gardening and plant conservation. Baldwin’s Nursery, LaHave Drumlins Native Plant Nursery, Beneath the Boughs Woodland Nursery and Helping Nature Heal will have a wide variety of native trees, shrubs and perennials.

The Friends are excited to be offering a handful of new species this year including Canada tick-trefoil. Visit our event page for a complete list of species available.
