Davin Macaskill is a 2025 graduate from Tantramar Regional High School, Sackville, New Brunswick. He grew up with a deep appreciation for nature, and developed an interest in birds and wildlife photography. His photography interest further developed during COIVD, when he used his extra time to each himself techniques.  Davin created a small business where he sells his award winning photography at bookstores and galleries in Sackville.  

His passion for birds also resulted in a bronze medal national science fair project on birds, as well as multiple CBC radio and television appearances. His work has also been featured internationally in magazines, and educational material. He has volunteered in bird surveys, university research, bird banding and citizen science initiatives. At his high school, Davin volunteered for the Tantramar Wetlands Education Center and was an active member of the environment club. 

Davin also looks forward to playing on the Acadia axemen soccer team. As captain of his high school team, Davin was the top goalscorer in the province, and was named team MVP for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He also volunteered as a coach for the Sackville youth soccer program, sharing his love of soccer with the next generation of athletes.  

Davin will be pursuing a BSc in Biology with a focus on wildlife conservation. His lifelong passion for nature has resulted in an interest in the biodiversity crisis that he hopes to explore at Acadia University.
