Kirsten Gallant is a 2023 French immersion graduate from Charlottetown Rural High School, Prince Edward Island. Kirsten strongly believes in the power of environmental science to find solutions to the environmental challenges that her community faces. As an accomplished athlete, Kirsten competed on multiple provincial ringette teams and premier soccer teams. This past year, Kirsten was voted by her peers as the assistant captain for her provincial ringette team. Kirsten is passionate about sharing her love of sports with others and has volunteered her time coaching ringette. She aspires to be a good role model for girls in sport. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Kirsten has received the Duke of Edinburgh bronze level and the Doug Currie Graduating Award for Dedication, Integrity, Diplomacy, and Respect. Kirsten’s drive to give back to her community is apparent in her volunteer work with the Women’s Institute, the recreation program at Andrews of Stratford Senior Care Center, and the Charlottetown Ringette Association.

Kirsten will be pursing a BSc. in Environmental Science in the fall of 2023 and is excited to learn about implementing solutions that preserve coastal and island ecosystems with the increasing challenges of the climate crisis. Ultimately, Kirsten hopes to use her knowledge by giving back to her island community and sharing her passion and love of the environment with others.
