Lily Miles is a 2026 French immersion graduate from Corner Brook Regional High, Newfoundland and Labrador. She grew up spending much of her time outdoors, whether it was on the trails or in the water. She loves all things nature and is beyond excited to study biology at Acadia University so she can learn all about the world around us.

Lily is a multi-sport athlete who’s been titled captain of two volleyball teams. She’s coached youth volleyball practices and camps, and she’s a local volleyball referee. She’s been on her local swim team for the past 10 years, coached summer swim camps, and is a swimming instructor and lifeguard.

Lily co-created and led her community’s “Inspire Tutoring” program – an opportunity for junior high school students to receive free weekly tutoring. This has helped students to reach their academic goals in math, science, and French. She completed a three-week summer French program in Quebec and received her DELF B1 certificate.

Lily has taken part in multiple school clubs and events. As the Co-President of her school’s Kindness Club, she organized community food drives, clothing drives, and events for the school. She was also Co-President of the Yearbook Committee, and a member of her school’s Gardening Club, where she helped to plant and harvest vegetables that were then donated to a community charity. As well, she’s participated in multiple school organized spring cleanups, advocating for a litter-free community.

Lily loves spending time outdoors; her happiest memories include camping, hiking, paddleboarding, and gardening. She’s excited to begin her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree this fall, and hopes her passion for learning and the environment will lead her to gain knowledge about animals, environments, ecosystems, and the science behind it all.
